As part of our Palm Jazz Festival weekend we present ALEX STUART QUARTET featuring MACIEK PYSZ.

Alex Stuart, is a multi-faceted and eclectic Paris based Australian guitarist. France's Nouvelle-Vague magazine has described his most recent album, Place to Be, as 'balanced to perfection...one of the best jazz albums of the year - 5 stars', and French national station France Musique has presented it as their feature album. Place to Be is an 'ode to cultural openness', with Alex finding inspiration in many places: the jazz tradition, contemporary jazz, African and South American grooves, rock and post-rock, Indian and Balkan music and more. Alex moved to France in 2005, immersing himself in Paris's jazz scene and its rich and varied musical cultures and, in Kolkata, in a study of the Hindustani classical tradition. He won in 2011 the highly competitive 'Revelation' prize at France's prestigious jazz festival, Jazz a Juan. His group has performed in festivals and clubs around the world. For this London concert Alex will feature  Polish, London based guitarist Maciek Pysz as well as Adam Teixeira on drums and Michele Tacchi on bass.
