Vocalist Hetty Kate, described as “the real deal” and “one of the best swing vocalists on the current scene” (Will Friedwald - Author & Critic, USA), was born in England, raised in Australia, and now lives in Paris. With a career spanning over a decade Hetty toured for many years with acclaimed Australian musician James Morrison and can now be found on stages large and small from New Zealand to New York. With a clear tone, and sweet sound Hetty is often compared to Stacey Kent, or a young Ella Fitzgerald and has featured at premier jazz
festivals internationally, including the New York Winter Jazz Festival (USA), Sapporo International Jazz Festival (Japan), Ascona Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Prague Proms (Czech Republic) and the Cavell Leitch New Zealand
International Jazz Festival as well as many others across Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Alongside her 2019 album 'Under Paris Skies', Hetty has released 9 albums, performed with eight symphonic orchestras, trod the boards as Ava Gardner in an original Australian production 'Ava at the End of the World' and appeared on both Australian and French TV.

For this concert at Jazz Café POSK Hetty prepared a special selection of her favourite swing jazz standards and is delighted to be joined by three excellent London based musicians, guitarist Denny Ilett, pianist Joe Webb and bassist Sandy Burnett. Expect an entertaining evening of beautiful music, stories, and fun.

"A stage presence only matched by the clarity of her voice" James Morrison, AU
