Krzysztof Urbanski heads back to Jazz Café POSK with his stellar quintet for a high-altitude evening of expressive jazz, previewing music from his soon-to-be released 3rd album.

In 2010 Krzysztof moved to England and started to work with some of the most innovative musicians in the UK founding his new Quintet, UrbanJazzSociety, including Sam Gardner, Sam Vicary, Martin Longhawn, Stuart McCallum. Together they create a fresh sound in Jazz using and incorporating elements of modern styles like Hiphop, Urban and R&B.
In 2012 Krzysztof was selected from hundreds musicians from all over the world to the live audition at The Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz in Los Angeles California (USA). The judges such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Jimmy Heath and Kenny Burrell maintained that Krzysztof is ‘’one of the best in his generation’’.
Krzysztof’s current band was formed in 2016 and his goal was to find musicians open to creating fresh and original sounds within a quintet framework.
For his third, soon to be release album, Krzysztof Urbanski presents an acoustic sound that naturally blends melodic rhapsody, rhythmic structures within the tradition of jazz, world and classical music.
