Lifestories is a true labour of love; it captures the exciting interaction and rough edges in a collaboration of four amazing & distinguished musicians featuring favourite compositions of Wayne Shorter, Sting, Charlie Chaplin, Herbie Hancock and movie soundtracks by Ennio Morricone & Nino Rota as well as some superb originals.

A lifelong ambition of a successful Italian composer/producer, MATTEO SAGGESE was finally fulfilled with the completion of the brilliant, “LIFESTORIES”! When MATTEO first decided to make this project his prime concern was to provide Jim, Dario Julian & Enzo with an ideal environment where they could express themselves freely. He chose the top sounding, cosy venue in the deep south of Italy, Zork Studios where the views are of mountains & sea with plenty of sun, fresh air, peace & lovely food!
The result is a superb collection of some of their favourite songs they never recorded with any bands, composed by Wayne Shorter, Sting, Donald Fagen, Charlie Chaplin, Herbie Hancock, Milton Nascimento, as well as movie soundtracks by Ennio Morricone(Il clan dei Siciliani), Nino Rota(The Immigrant) and Stanley Myers Cavatina from The Deer hunter as well as some originals “Di Sole E d’Azzurro”, an original by Matteo Saggese) all played to the highest possible standard!

JIM MULLEN: British Jazz Award for best guitarist 2014...a true UK legend having played with the Average White Band, Morrissey, Kokomo, Brian Auger’s Oblivion Express. Most recently Jim recorded as part of The All Stars with Jocelyn Brown, Hamish Stuart & Angelo Starr – an album produced by Paul McCartney.
DARIO DEIDDA: One of the best bass player in the World Music scene, Voted 3 years in a row as best bass player in his native Italy! Dario has collaborated with several US & European musicians including Benny Golson, James Moody, George Coleman, Gil Evans Orchestra, Tom Harrell, Peter Erskine
ENZO ZIRILLI: Italian drummer/percussionist moved to London in 2005 held in the highest possible esteem around the world having worked with Enrico Pieranunzi, Gloria Gaynor, SteveGrossman, Dado Moroni, Tom Harrell, Bob Mintzer, Liane Carroll, etc

Lifestories to unikalny projekt muzyczny włoskiego kompozytora Matteo Saggese, który zadbał o właściwe warunki do pracy artystycznej dla czterech muzyków: Jima Mullena, Dario Deidda, Enzo Zirilli i Juliana Mazariello, wynajmując studio muzyczne w pięknej okolicy w południowych Włoszech, gdzie artyści mogli się oddać wyłącznie pracy twórczej nad jego projektem.

W rezultacie powstało dzieło łączące muzykę takich kompozytorów, jak Wayne Shorter, Sting, Donald Fagen, Charlie Chaplin, Herbie Hancock, Milton Nascimento, jak również fragmenty muzyki filmowej Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota i Stanleya Myersa („Cavatina” z filmu „The Deer Hunter”) oraz oryginalne kompozycje Matteo Saggese.

„Historie życiowe” (Lifestories) w Jazz Café POSK zaprezentują twórcy tego niezwykłego projektu, wybitni muzycy europejskiej i światowej sceny jazzowej: Jim Mullen – gitara, zdobywca British Jazz Award dla najlepszego gitarzysty roku 2014; Dario Deidda – od 3 lat wybierany najlepszym muzykiem basowym we Włoszech; Enzo Zirilli – włoski perkusista od 2005 r. mieszkający w Londynie, który współpracował z takimi wokalistami, jak Gloria Gaynor, Steve Grossman, Dado Moroni, Tom Harrell, Bob Mintzer, Liane Carroll i wielu innych. Skład zespołu uzupełnia Julian Oliver Mazzariello – urodzony w Anglii pianista, który od 13. roku życia rozwija swoją karierę, współpracując m.in. z perkusistą Jose Joyette jako połowa zespołu The Future Shock, będąc również zdobywcą pierwszej nagrody pisma „Telegraph” dla Young Jazz Musician Of The Year.
