Sarah Moule & The Simon Wallace Trio

Sarah and the band explore life’s emotional highs and lows through Fran Landesman’s edgy, urbane lyrics alongside imaginative re-workings of classic jazz songs!

Sarah Moule began her career as featured vocalist with the John Wilson Orchestra.  She enjoyed a long and fruitful partnership with American lyricist, the late Fran Landesman who for 20 years wrote songs with Sarah’s husband Simon Wallace. The fruits of their collaboration have yielded five critically acclaimed albums, including the latest offering Stormy Emotions which earned rave reviews from critics and featured in several Best of Year lists.  Sarah has toured with Bob Dorough and Duncan Lamont Snr and performed at the Southbank Centre, Ronnie Scott's and on BBC Radio 2's Friday Night Is Music Night.

Simon Wallace has had a 45-year international career as a composer, pianist, and musical director. For 30 years he worked with the late Simon Brint composing music for some of Britain's most popular TV shows and has been pianist/musical director for leading British jazz singers Clare Teal, Ian Shaw and Claire Martin. He was recently featured in a Sky Arts documentary performing at Ronnie Scott's with singer Emeli Sandé in a set which included the Wallace/Landesman song Scars.

Bassist Steve Watts is a member of the influential Loose Tubes jazz orchestra and The Printmakers, a band featuring Norma Winstone, Nikki Iles, and Mike Walker. He has worked with many internationally acclaimed musicians, including Django Bates, Iain Ballamy, Julian Arguelles, Kenny Wheeler, Stan Sulzman, Jim Mullen, Joe Lovano, Kirk Lightsey, and Richard Rodney Bennett.

Drummer Kenrick Rowes easy swing, technical expertise and quiet professionalism have made him one of the most sought after jazz drummers in the UK. He has toured with Art Farmer, Courtney Pine, Jean Toussaint, Andy Sheppard and the Jazz Jamaica All Stars.

‘Long established as one of the best jazz singers in the UK, Sarah Moule is a master at bringing out the heart of a song’ - Helen Mayhew, JazzFM

‘Moule captures every nuance of the late great lyricists words…touchingly…candidly and always unerringly…beautifully set by Simon Wallace'-  Dave Gelly, The Observer
