Tim Whitehead founded the jazz musicians collective Way Out West in 2004, and since then 500 gigs in Kingston, Richmond, Ealing, Barnes and, from May 2014, the Polish Jazz Cafe, testify to the strength of his conception.

Linda Whitehead, Tim's wife, has been ill for some time, and the gig at the Polish Jazz Cafe on September 11th is a gesture of support, both emotional and financial, from the members of Way Out West, in company with friends and leading figures from the British jazz scene, including Mornington Lockett, Jonathan Gee, Mick Hutton and Nic France.

Way Out West is a unique collective of jazz musicians. Diverse improvisation, performance, arranging, composition, all come to the forefront in full force within weekly gigs, as each collective member presents collaborations of their work with guest stars from today's jazz scene.

Seasonal blasts include Way Out West appearing together for All-star evenings.

W ciągu 10 lat istnienia zespół zagrał ponad 400 koncertów. W Jazz Café POSK występuje raz w miesiącu prezentując muzyków wybranych z najlepszych londyńskich zespołów.
