Tamara Barschak’s “Kaleidoscope Quartet”

The quartet will be playing a selection of original compositions by Tamara Barschak which cover multi genres including jazz, funk, soul, blues, bossa nova and ballads.

The Kaleidoscope Quartet is pianist and singer Tamara Barschak’s brainchild. Having trained as a classical pianist both in London and at the conservatoire de Montreuil in Paris, Tamara then branched out into Jazz, Funk, Blues and Latin music, studying at both Goldsmiths University and Morley college. She has been composing and playing multi genres of music for many years. Recently published by Trinity College of Music for her Piano Variations on the song “A Whiter Shade of Pale” she continues to delight audiences everywhere with her eclectic mix of compositions and styles.

Tamara has also written scores for short films, adverts, animation, plays and other visual media. Her score to the multi award winning short film “The 2.40 to London” won best Soundtrack at the Monkey Bread Film Festival. Her Soundtrack to the Italian film “Indian Dream” was screened in multiplex cinemas all over Rome in 2008.

Paul Booth - an award-winning saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist, Paul Booth has an elite reputation as a solo artist, composer, band leader and arranger. At only 16 years old, Paul won a place to study Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, becoming the youngest student ever to win a place at the highly prestigious music school. 3 years later in 1996, he won the prestigious Stan Getz / Clifford Brown fellowship in Miami USA. Paul’s talents as a multi-instrumentalist and his ability to easily play any genre of music has led to him being asked to work with some of the top names in music. He has played, toured, and recorded regularly with the likes of Steely Dan, Steve Winwood, The Eagles, Eric Clapton, Santana, van Morrison, The Allman brothers, Chaka Khan. Paul has also released several albums to great critical acclaim.

Felippe Oliveira - is a superb Brazilian bass player hailing from the hilltop town of Minas Gerais. He has played with a wide range of artists and bands including the excellent Mario Bakuna band with whom he tours all over the world. Felippe is a wonderful composer in his own right and has released two albums. His latest album was recently launched at the Green Note in Camden and is an engaging mix of Brazilian jazz, funky originals and boss nova.

Cosimo Keita Cadore - studied percussion and double bass at the Cherubini Music Conservatory in his hometown Florence, Italy. He consequently continued to study music and drumming in New York, Los Angeles, and the Goldsmith’s College in London. As a musician he has worked and performed with different artists and organizations such as Shakira, Lionel Richie, Ricky Martin, Mariah Carey, Eddy Grant, London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Nelly Furtado, Alvin Ailey, Rambert Dance Company, The Playboy Club, Jessica Lauren, Dele Sosimi, Liane Carroll, Down To The Bones, Human Revolution Orchestra featuring Robin Eubanks, Juliet Kelly, Oli Hayhurst, Francesco Lo Castro, Roberto Manzin, Tony Kofi, The BBC2 drama `Dancing On The Edge`. Performed with Chinike! Orchestra the Black Panther soundtrack at the Royal Albert Hall and participated on the latest Indiana Jones movie “Dial of Destiny”.
